This is education, not advice
The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you whether a course of treatment, an operation or neither is appropriate for your face, your skin or your health.
No outcome is guaranteed
No treatment can be guaranteed. How much non-surgical treatment changes the skin, how long the change holds, how a facelift settles and how the scars mature all vary between individuals. A clinician who promises a specific result before examining you is describing something other than medicine.
Scars and nerve risk are real
A facelift leaves permanent scars in front of and behind the ear and into the hairline, and carries a small risk of injury to the nerves that move the face. Those risks are stated at assessment rather than discovered afterwards, and no surgeon can promise that they will not occur.
A second operation adds risk
Revision of a facelift is a further operation on tissue that has already been operated on. It carries added risk rather than removing the risk of the first procedure, which is why this site discusses it before the first operation rather than after.
